Letter - February 24, 2009
Hey there everyone!! Well this is the second to last time that i will email you with 3 Rudd boys and 1 Rudd girl. That is weird to think about. I hope the wedding plans go through well and i hope that everyone is doing well.
Well this week was a little slow moving. We taught Sheelagh and Helen a couple more times and they were at church on Sunday. They really enjoy church. However they are a member referral and the members that referred them to us felt like they needed more time for baptism. President Moffat has told the missionaries in the past that they need to do everything that this family says. It is a really wierd situation. We have spoken to the family quite a bit this week trying to resolve their concerns. We are speaking with them tonight and it will be a due or die situation. If they aren't willing to let Sheelagh and Helen work towards a date to be baptized then we are going to drop them and we can't work with them anymore. If that happens it will really break my heart. I hope that everything goes well.
We have Zone Conference on Thursday which is my birthday. It will be a fun way to celebrate it. I wouldn't want it any other way. I can't believe that i will be 20 though. That is old. There is no better place to be though right now then serving a mission. I am excited for Zone Conference. It will be a good one.
We have really had a struggle this past week to find people to teach. It has been very discouraging and very disappointing. We continue to work hard though. That is the best thing we can do. (Preach My Gospel pg. 121) We know that in the end the Lord will bless us.
I have started the Book of Mormon over again. I think this is the 4th time i will have read it since i have been out. I am currently in 1 Nephi and i love hearing about the trials and triumphs of Nephi. He is probably my favorite person to study about in the Book of Mormon for that exact reason. " I will go and do the things which the Lord had commanded me. For i know that the Lord giveth no commandment unto the children of men save he shall prepare a way for them that they may accomplish the thing which he commandeth them." I love that scripture. No matter what the commandment is, there is always a way to accomplish it. Mission life is hard. It is the hardest thing i have ever done. It is so rewarding though. So rewarding. I know that the Lord puts trials in our way for us to become stronger. I love the gospel. I love it with all of my heart. I am grateful for my testimony of this sweet sweet gospel. I hope that i can work as hard as Nephi and be as obedient and righteous as he was. I love you all and i am grateful for your love and support.

Letter - February 17, 2009
Hey there how are all of you? I understand you are busy with wedding plans. That is good. You will have to let me know how it goes. I got the wedding invitation today and it was great. I am excited for you Deb. Rick just better take care of ya or he has me to deal with. Haha. i know that you will be great together. I am excited.
Well it has been a good week in the new area. Lichfield is not a big town at all. In this mission each area is a ward and each Zone is a stake. So there are 8 Zones in our mission. It is very different to back home. Lichfield would probably be the size of Sandy and Draper. And that is just all one ward. There were probably about 70 people in Sacrament meeting on Sunday. Our flat is pretty nice. It is wierd to be in a place where i can actually go in a different room. I was living in a box for the last 7 and a half months. I am excited to be in Lichfield though. I am not the District Leader anymore but yes i am senior companion. I do miss being the District Leader though. It was a lot of fun.
The weather here is awful. You never know what to predict. It is still very cold. It has snowed a lot this winter which is very very rare here. The wind constantly blows and it just cuts right through ya.

Letter - February 12, 2009
Hey everyone!!! Sorry i forgot to mention that transfers were this week. That is why you haven't heard from me until now. I have been transfered out of Rugby. I had been there for the last 7 1/2 months. It was difficult to leave. I absolutely loved Rugby. It treated me well. I will miss it but i am excited to be in my new area. I am now serving in a town called Lichfield. It is north of Birmingham. It is not a big town and there is a huge Catholic Cathedral here. It is massive. I also found out that the church has a full court basketball court inside!!!!!! WOW was i excited to hear that. I will be at that church every p day now. I could hardly contain myself when i found out. I wanted to go play right then. Well my new companion is Elder Bedford. He is from St George, Utah. Bloomington to be exact. He lives on the other side of the river. So before you get to the park with the baseball fields. I asked him how many times he has been to Fiesta Fun and he said once. He said why go to Fiesta Fun. There isn't a whole lot to do there. It was funny. Well my new address is this.

Well hello everyone!! I was glad to hear that everyone is doing well and that they are healthy. I am doing great over here and loving every minute of being a missionary. I often have dreams that i am home and they seem real at the time and then i wake up and i realize that i am still out here and i am so excited. I wouldnt want to be any other place at this point of my life.
This week we have been trying to find people to teach. We don't have a lot of people at the moment but right now we are working with a family from Portugal who seem to be doing well. We aren't really working with Dean any more. We would set up appointments and he wouldn't be there and we were never able to get a hold of him again. That is a bit disappointing but that is what happens in missionary work. It has been a very slow month and it is because of the weather and how cold it is right now. It is very cold again and on Sunday night and all of yesterday it was snowing. It snowed about 2 or 3 inches and the whole country shut down. That is not a joke either. London was shut down. The trains weren't running, the buses weren't running. We all found it very humorous. So yes right now there is snow in England and we can't really ride our bikes because it is very icy as well.
Yesterday we had interviews in Coventry. They were very good as usual. I learned a lot from President Moffat. His son was over here. Patrick Moffat. He is a business partner of President Moffat. I always love the missionary meetings. They are so great. The spirit is so strong and it is like any other meetings i have been to. I learn so much. When i leave i have such a strong desire to be a better missionary and i just feel so enlightened. I love this work.
Well about an hour ago we were down at the chapel because our Bishop's wife called us and said that there was a letter for us at the chapel. It was addressed to the "American Missionaries." It was from Rosemary!! A.K.A. blanket lady. It was addressed from Peterborough which is on the eastern side of england. Still in our mission though. So we went and read this letter. We found out that she is in prison right now for something she did. It broke my heart. She later went on to say though that she was greatful for what we had taught her and she hopes that she can get in contact with the church again when she is out of prison. I was shocked that she was in prison and i hope that she is alright. Please pray for her. Yes she had a few wires crossed but she was very nice. She needs our prayers at this time. The gospel can and will bless her life.
Well i know that this church is true. I love it with all of my heart. I am so greatful for it in my life. Jesus Christ lives. I can testify of that. I know that we do indeed have a prophet on the earth. I love sharing that with people each and every day. I love all of you and i hope that everything is well.

Letter - January 27, 2009
Hey everyone!!! It sounds like everybody needs to start feeling better. Everyone take a lot of vitamin c. Thats what Sister Moffat tells us to do. I remember the time when i was in like 2nd grade and all of us were sick at the same time and so we all stayed home and watched like every episode of Arthur. It was great. That is something that i remember about being sick. But i hope to hear next week that everyone is doing better.
This week has been a decent week. We have made some progress. We taught Dean again but he didn't come to church. That was a little frustrating but we will continue to work with him. We are still working with Mary and her family. The ones from Zambia but they are just not getting the Book of Mormon so we don't go over there too much anymore. We had a few interesting conversations with people this past week. One guy told us that the Holy Ghost's name is Gabriel. Another guy argued with us for 10 minutes about how he doesn't need God in his life and at the end of it he said now i have given you my time and you have heard what i have to say now thank you. Then he walked off. We kind of just laughed. Last night we had a guy who came chasing after we knocked on his door and said he thought we had pretty good door conversation skills because we asked him if he needed any help with his house. He had yelled at us before to get lost. That one was pretty funny. Those are just some of the things that go on everyday over here in jolly old england. It's absolutely nuts. The english have lost their mind. They are so lost. It is funny to see how they act with some things. I love them so much though. They are the reason why i love missionary work. Yes they are very difficult to understand but i do love them.
We have interviews next monday and so those should be good. They always are. I love them. I learn so much from them. I also had to do a district meeting last week. I had no idea what to teach the district. It was on the Area Book and the Daily Planner. Everyone just gave ideas about how they could do better in updating the Area Book and keeping their Planner organized. It went alright. We have another one this week and so that should be a little better hopefully. Please pray for me.
Well everything is going well here and i am enjoying the work. I agree with Steve Lundquist. It is the hardest thing i have ever done but it is the most rewarding and it is definately worth it. I love the gospel. I love sharing it with people. The things that i have been able to learn are incredible. I wouldn't have it any other way. Letter - January 20, 2009
Well hello everyone. This will just be a quick one but this week was a good week. We had Zone Conference and Elder Cousse of the area presidency came. It was probably the best Zone Conference i have ever been to. He talked alot about planning and how we need to follow the spirit more in our planning. It was really good. He is French and so his accent was awesome. He would always take a minute to comprehend what was going on and then he would respond. It was great. He pretty much took over the conference and did whatever he wanted to do. It really was incredible. The spirit was so strong. I love Zone Conference. I wish it was more often.
We had a great thing happen to us this week. It truly was a blessing from the Lord. We were tracting on Thursday and we knocked on this door and a guy answered the door and we started teaching him. He eventually invited us in and we taught him. You should have seen the look on his face when he found out that Joseph Smith actually found the gold plates. It was amazing. His name is dean and he is really excited to learn about the gospel. We taught him yesterday and showed him the Restoration DVD. He loved it and he said he was definately coming to church this week. I am so thankful for the blessing that we recieve from doing the Lords work. It truly is incredible.

Letter - January 13, 2009
Hey well sorry i apologize for this email but it will be short because the internet in the library is not doing very well and so they are shutting all the computers down.
Well this week has been a fast one. We have been busy and we are continuing to work hard and find people. It has been hard to get people to progress but we are working at it and we have the faith that the Lord will bless us. We are not really making any progress with that family from Zambia. They have a lot of questions and it seems to be the same ones over and over again. It has been really frustrating. We continue to work with them though.
The exchange went well. It was alot of fun and i got to know the new elder alot better. He is a really fun kid and has a strong testimony. I have to go on another one this week and i have the opportunity to do my first baptismal interview. I hope that i will be able to do it effectively. It will be a great experience for me. I am excited about it.
We were supposed to go to Kineton today but we can't get out there and get back in time. We will have to go another week but i will keep you posted on it.
We have Zone Conference tomorrow. Elder Kouse' (Gérald Caussé) or however you spell it is coming. He is part of the area presidency. He spoke in the last general conference. It will be a good Conference and i am excited to hear him and see what he does.
I would just like to close with my testimony of this gospel. I know with all of my heart that this is the true church of our Heavenly Father. I know that true happiness comes through it. It is the only way. I love Jesus Christ. He lives!! I know that my redeemer lives! What comfort this sweet sentence gives. I am so thankful for my time to serve him. I know that the Book of Mormon is the word of God. It is incredible. I love it with all of my heart. I testify that Joseph Smith saw two personages on that spring morning in 1820, even God the father and Jesus Christ. I love this work. I see the Lords hand in it every day and i am so greatful for all of the support from the family, ward and friends. This church is true. I testify of its reality.

Letter - January 6, 2009
Hey everyone!!! I hope you all had a great new year!!! I was very happy to hear about the utes. I will be excited to see that game. Great job Kyle!!
It is bitter cold over here. It snowed yesterday morning and actually stuck a bit. There is only a couple centimeters but everyone freaks out over here. It is pretty funny. But it really is freezing cold. There is no way to get warm unless your inside. That is one of the joys of missionary work though.
Well this week hasn't been too impressive. Yes we are still teaching the family from Zambia and they have all kinds of concerns. It is crazy. I have never met someone with so many concerns. We are working hard to resolve them though so hopefully we will. I will let you know how it goes. Well as a district leader i have to go on an exchange with the Zone Leaders once a transfer so i went on that this week. It was really good and i learned alot about what the Zone Leaders want me to report each night. I felt really good about it and i hope that i can be a better leader. Well we have just done a lot of tracting this week and it has been a really tough week. This week will hopefully be better though. I have to go on an exchange with all the missionaries in the district this transfer and so tomorrow i will be on an exchange. I just go and help the missionaries out and see how they do in their missionary work. It will be a good experience for me. I look forward to it.
I have to do my first district meeting this week as well. I have absolutely no idea how to do a district meeting so i hope it goes well. I hope that it will help the other Elders and Sisters out. I will let you know if it is a disaster or not. Haha.
We also have Zone Conference next week which i am looking forward to. I always love them and it is such a great place to learn about missionary work. I can't wait for it.
Well i don't have too much time left but i just want to tell you how great this Christmas season was. It was so wonderful to become closer to the Savior and to study about his life. I really feel so much closer to Jesus Christ now than i ever have. Missionary work is so great. I love it. I love sharing the gospel with everyone. I have so much more to learn and i will never learn it all but i will try my hardest to. Thank you for teaching me the gospel and bringing me up in it. I don't know where i would be without it. I really don't. I love it so much. It is so great to see the little miracles that take place each and every day because of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Well this week hasn't been too impressive. Yes we are still teaching the family from Zambia and they have all kinds of concerns. It is crazy. I have never met someone with so many concerns. We are working hard to resolve them though so hopefully we will. I will let you know how it goes. Well as a district leader i have to go on an exchange with the Zone Leaders once a transfer so i went on that this week. It was really good and i learned alot about what the Zone Leaders want me to report each night. I felt really good about it and i hope that i can be a better leader. Well we have just done a lot of tracting this week and it has been a really tough week. This week will hopefully be better though. I have to go on an exchange with all the missionaries in the district this transfer and so tomorrow i will be on an exchange. I just go and help the missionaries out and see how they do in their missionary work. It will be a good experience for me. I look forward to it.
I have to do my first district meeting this week as well. I have absolutely no idea how to do a district meeting so i hope it goes well. I hope that it will help the other Elders and Sisters out. I will let you know if it is a disaster or not. Haha.
We also have Zone Conference next week which i am looking forward to. I always love them and it is such a great place to learn about missionary work. I can't wait for it.
Well i don't have too much time left but i just want to tell you how great this Christmas season was. It was so wonderful to become closer to the Savior and to study about his life. I really feel so much closer to Jesus Christ now than i ever have. Missionary work is so great. I love it. I love sharing the gospel with everyone. I have so much more to learn and i will never learn it all but i will try my hardest to. Thank you for teaching me the gospel and bringing me up in it. I don't know where i would be without it. I really don't. I love it so much. It is so great to see the little miracles that take place each and every day because of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
